Tuesday Tipple - Blue Hawaiian

Tuesday Tipple - Blue Hawaiian

It's Tuesday again - time for some tippling! This week's alcoholic delight - A Blue Hawaiian. Say it with me - yummm!

Supplies:

  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1-1/2 oz white rum
  • 3 oz of pineapple juice
  • 1 oz of coconut cream (or creme de coconut of you're fancy)
  • 1 oz of Blue Curacao
  • Pineapple slice and drink umbrella for garnish (optional)

The Set-Up

Method 1: The I need this drink right now method

  • Add all of the ingredients, including the ice to a shaker.  Shake for at least 20-30 seconds to be sure everything is completely combined.
  • Pour mixture into a chilled highball glass (or red solo cup, a bowl, whatever) with or without the ice depending on your preference.
  • Optional - Garnish with pineapple wedges, and a drink umbrella is you're feeling pretty. If not, proceed to slurping.

Method 2: For those of us with a bit of patience and class, or who likes a more blended style drink

  • you can put all the ingredients in a blender with ice and pulse a couple of times until it's smooth and sexy looking and serve it as a slushy type drink with or without the garnish.

Let the lip smacking begin!

This recipe is for one serving, but trust me, one won't be enough, so feel free to double (or triple, or tenfold) this one so no fights break out. After imbibing a few of these if you feel the urge to dig out the grass skirt and coconut bra from that really old Halloween costume you've had hidden in the attic and do your best version of the hula on your front lawn, you might want to resist. But hey, it's your world, do as you please! Just don't say I didn't warn you. If you make this cocktail or any variations of it let us know about it in the comments below. Happy drinking!
